With Jack’s undying obsession with NBA Basketball, he has taken to reading the sports page every morning while eating breakfast. Some mornings, the DJ catches an early train downtown… and ohhhh how hell breaks loose in our house. Jack will go downstairs and discover the newspaper is gone, and so is daddy. He will start crying, pick up the phone, call daddy, and pretty much yell at him for taking his sports page.Well, we all know the DJ is a smart man, and thus the perfect solution: Photo copies. The DJ has to copy all NBA related pages of the sports section before leaving. And then there is peace.

I recently heard mention of teaching Jack to read ESPN.com. I don’t think I’m up for that yet. I cant imagine starting the morning troubleshooting internet access issues for my 5 year old.

After a very nerve-wrecking 17 weeks (long story, but you probably know it), we have some very exciting news this weekend. Our dear friend, Amy W, who is an ultrasound technician, invited us to come visit her at work, and take some sneak peaks at what feels like a monster-sized baby growing inside me.

Now, there has been a ton of speculation… Because I have been super duper nauseous for the first 16 weeks and wasn’t with Jack, and because Aunt Amanda’s triangulation-of-factors interview, and just general guesses, everyone has been saying its a girl. But in this family, where mono-gender-reproduction is a standard, and DJ and I have only experienced a boy… well, we just figured we have another wonderful boy coming our way.

But holy guacamole, what is that you see Amy W??? 3 dots? (its the tale-tell sign) 3 dots?!?!?!!!!

A 1988 Chevy Suburban. I named it The Beast. C’mon, who buys a 22 year old car???

Or even better, how does this happen? The DJ saw it while out for a bike ride, and followed the guy home.

As if she didn’t already OWN the title of worlds worst dog, Leni got a stick stuck in her mouth last week. When I say stuck, I mean stuck. Another trip to the vet to have it removed and fight infection (it had been there for weeks,) she is a-ok!

Wow – we finally did it, we got an RV. We have been talking about doing this for years but the timing was never right. And just last weekend the stars aligned, and we found the right RV at the right price. We had to drive hours to get the right deal, but found a 29′ 2007 Forest River Forester. Its beautiful, lacking all the tacky pink and blue decor of most RVs. The lot couldn’t sell it for 2 years (bad economy) and finally reduced the price drastically. Its has amazing upgrades, like a TV, an outdoor shower, backup camera, and leather sofa. We plan to test it out this weekend at Camp Pendleton’s Camp Del Mar – on the beach! Stay tuned for some good stories… because I forgot to mention, we have no idea what we are doing!!!

The difference between Otis and Leni

I get out a rawhide for them each – and they take them and run in different directions:

Leni hops up and horks it out of my hand. Then she runs to the pool table and horks is down. I use the word hork because that is the sound she made as she inhaled it, and as the way horking goes, if you hork something down, you certainly will hork it up (and she did, and then she horked it down again)

Otis daintily takes his from my hand but then sprints out to the back yard and digs a quick hole to bury it. He returns quickly ith a mud crusted nose.

And, to my dismay, they both returned at the same time, no more rawhide. EW.
